My debut novel, MY TOXIC BOYFRIEND, was in the top 5.5 percent of thousands of submissions to the 2026 Bridport Novel Prize.

Novel description: An evangelical chaplain's daughter discovers a dark secret about her sister that puts her at odds with both her faith and her family. My novel will appeal to readers of Monica West’s Revival Season and Kelsey McKinney’s God Spare the Girls.

In small-town Missouri, fourteen-year-old Gabrielle love books, the bassoon, and God. She’s always seen Jesus as the ideal boyfriend. To show her commitment to Him, and to keep her domineering father’s approval, she dons a purity ring, even if it means repressing her desire for Charlie, an atheist and fellow bassoonist at her school. When her younger sister, Sophia, confides in her about being sexually assaulted, Gabrielle reluctantly agrees not to tell anyone, not even their mother. Fearing their father’s wrath, she trusts God to protect Sophia. But when God doesn’t follow through on His promises, Gabrielle is left doubting both her father and her beliefs.

Project in the making: I am also working on a queer sci-fi/fantasy YA novel, which I’m excited to send into the world soon!
