Longer projects:

Completed novel: Fourteen-year-old Gabby has always tried to follow the rules, because she believes she’ll be worthless if she fails. As a young woman growing up in a fundamentalist, Southern Baptist family in small-town Missouri in the early 2000s, this means not only going to church and praying, but vowing to save her first kiss for marriage, writing letters to her future husband, and trying to convert peers over slimy slices of cafeteria pizza. Around every sex-obsessed classmate and evolution-believing teacher, she imagines demon talons piercing their brains. Only seventeen-year-old Charlie, fellow bassoon player and disciple of Darwin, as well as two unlikely friends, seem to be exceptions. But is this because Satan has managed to penetrate Gabby’s mind, too? 

Project in the making: I am also working on a queer sci-fi/fantasy YA novel, which I’m excited to send into the world soon!
